Former Bulacan Provincial Administrator is new PNOC exec

Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, March 18, 2011 - PRESIDENT Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III appointed former Bulacan provincial administrator Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita as one of the two new members of the board of directors of the Philippine National Oil Company.

Sta. Rita, along with fellow new appointee former Senator Victor Ziga, took her oath of office before Energy Secretary Rene Almendras during a simple ceremony at the PNOC central office, in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, last March 18. Sta. Rita, who has served the provincial government for 17 years, is also the author of a book, Running A Bureaucracy.

The book is a popular guide on local governance for public managers, local government administrators, and elected officials. It was chosen as one of the finalists for the National Book Awards of 2009.

The official earned her AB and masters degrees in Economics from the University of the Philippines School of Economics, Public Administration from the University of Regina Carmeli and completed a Course for Senior Executives at the Kennedy School of Government in Harvard University.
